Chef De Cuisine - Shingo Katsura
Shingo Katsura extends his extraordinary culinary talents to The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, as the Chef de Cuisine for its fine dining venue, Azure Restaurant. Katsura was born in Japan before moving to Hawaii, and began his culinary journey in California. He was most recently at Roots & Rye in San Jose, Calif., where he started as chef de cuisine, then promoted to executive chef. Katsura began his culinary career at Madera Restaurant, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Menlo Park, California.
General Manager - Micah Suderman
Micah Suderman serves as the General Manager and Certified Sommelier of Azure Restaurant. As a local boy from Hawaii, Suderman takes pride in pairing the perfect wines with delectable dishes at Azure. He was recently named "Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers" by Wine Enthusiasts in 2017.
Ariana Tsuchiya, Assistant Restaurant Manager
Ariana Tsuchiya sees herself as a student of the game. Whether it's food, wine, or life, she is always fully immersed. That approach has helped Tsuchiya keep advancing in the sensational world of wine education. Today, she is one of only two women in Hawai‘i (and only one on O‘ahu) who's a Certified Sommelier working actively on the restaurant floor each evening. In 2018, she completed the Advanced Course on the Certified Sommelier level.
